I am reminded of the sparse, yet spectacular red poopies that are sprinkled along the roads and farm paths in Germany.

New flowers
My assistant, Foxy, is compiling a list of flowers for me to paint. On it are a yellow daisy, a small delicate yellow poppy, and an orange mystery flower. Camas is also on the list; blue lily-like flowers with a nutritious, bulb-like root (a staple food of Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest). Camas was requested by a visitor to my booth at the Scappoose Farmers Market.

Foxy was a lot of help so I gave her some chocolate for desert. Then I discovered that she found, and ate, almost the entire bar of chocolate. I scooped her up and put her to bed.
Behind the scenes – Finished!
Just finished the 2015 Road Trip. Good, because 2015 is almost gone. It looks so small and cute in the photo – they’re all 7×5 inches. I will post the series in its entirety the first week in January (I have to wait for this one to dry so I can scan it). It’s the I-5 Grapevine hills north of Los Angeles.

Welcome Autumn, Germany
Golden colors and crisp temperatures make for perfect walking weather, so I took myself outside this morning for a walk. Not a soul on the trail up to the castle, at least not any living ones, unless one counts the goats that had broken through their fence!
