As soon as I saw this place I instantly thought of the song “Don’t Fence Me In” as sung by Gene Autry. It’s a view, looking due West, towards the headwaters of the of the Rio Grande river (in the distant mountains). The view is from Brown’s Lake Overlook (AKA Weminuche Wilderness Vista) along the Silver Thread Scenic Highway (CO 149).

Thanksgiving in Denver
I went to my son’s home in Denver for Thanksgiving holiday. I had a few minutes to do a quick sketch while waiting to go to the airport, and home. I went out on his porch and this is what I saw. I penciled in a few marks and added color later – it was time to go. I was flying stand-by back to Phoenix. I was number 26 on the list, but I made it!
