That’s the title of a current exhibition at the Phoenix Art Museum, curated by Jerry Smith. Cezanne’s work is juxtaposed with that of early American Modernist painters and photographers, most notably Marsden Hartley, Maurice Prendergast, and Alfred Stieglitz. The exhibition reveals Cezanne’s influence on Early American Art. Nicely done.
